The more I think about it the more I think "what people want" is insignificant. Good 'ole Charlie Munger had it spot on. "Show me the motivations and I'll show you the outcome." The NFL as a business is incentivized to protect its players because stars are money makers, high quality play is a money maker, and a whole host of other things which player churn hurts. If only there were some entity that could curb the dangerous impulses of purely profit driven corporations? An entity which stuck of for the regular person...maybe we could even call them, regulators?
